The Dilip Lakhani Foundation is a registered UK charity that funds horticultural traineeships for landscape architecture students, particularly those from the University of Greenwich.
Purpose:
To advance the education of students who are socially or economically disadvantaged, specifically in the fields of landscape architecture and horticulture.

Provides scholarships and placements, such as the Dilip Lakhani Foundation Scholarship, giving trainee landscape architects practical experience at hubs like the Garden Museum in London and Great Dixter in East Sussex.

the Trustees
Dilip Lakhani
Dilip practices as a Principal Landscape Architect and project manager with over 16 years’ experience in the field.
His work encompasses planting and soft landscape design accompanied by a breadth and experience of horticultural knowledge. He has residential and commercial project experience as a Landscape Architect. These include complex and detailed planting design, play spaces, streetscapes and input into hybrid applications for phased developments.
He is keen for landscape architecture to ground itself also in horticulture and planting design practice hence the establishment of eth DL Foundation Trust.
John Wakefield
John Wakefield had a career for many years in current affairs television. He specialised in political interviewing, working with Brian Walden and John Humphrys. More recently he has been a writer and literary editor, editing books by, among others, David Owen and Iain McGilchrist. He is the civil partner of Dilip Lakhani and loves his garden with its shade and peaceful qualities.
Roo Angell
Roo is a landscape designer, educator, and community activist best known for co-founding the community-led Sayes Court Garden project.
Background and Work.
Sayes Court Project: Co-founded as a community initiative exploring new models for urban gardening, cultural spaces, and public research.
Academic Role:
Teaches and lectures within landscape architecture and urbanism, including at the University of Greenwich.
Research and Writing:
Contributes to collaborative design futures discourse, such as the Collective Landscape Futures initiatives and publications exploring ecological and civic roles in landscape architecture.
